The Moorhead Spuds have been a win away the last two years starting their journey tonight at home against Alexandria.
On a chilly night
Opening drive of the game for the Spuds they go down the field and on 4th down they convert as Tyler Eidness hits Brett Lawrence on a 3 yard pass.
Later in the first, same score, this time it's his younger Jade finding the land of six points on a jet sweep run.
14-0 Spuds after one.
Moorhead defense forces an interception and they turn into points.

In Class 4A, Fergus Falls matched up with Albany, in a 4-5 game under the lights.
It was all defense early, Otters defensive end Augustus Makovsky, makes a huge tackle for a loss.
The Huskies are kept off the board early in the 2nd.
But, the visitors score on their next two drives.
Quaterback Taylor Fuure on the keeper makes it 14-0 Huskies.
Fergus makes it interesting, but Albany prevails, 34-21 and will play Detroit Lakes Saturday.
In 3A, we had a rematch from the regular season as Perham took on East Grand Forks.
1st quarter the counter give to Cole Schmitz.
Schmitz does the rest, 31 yards to the endzone.
Same score in the second, Identical play this time Josh Still the benefits form good blocking.
Still goes 80 yards to pay dirt to make it 14-0.
Perham wins it 35-14.
Winner plays DGF Saturday
In 2A, Barnesville opened section play facing Warroad, who eliminated the Trojans two years ago in the playoffs.
3rd play of the game, Barnesville's Kyler Martz, uses his "right" arm and finds Ethan Ishaug for a score
After a Warroad fumble Martz uses his "left" arm because his right was being grabbed tosses a touchdown to Nick Randklev, none of the coaches have EVER seen him do that before!
14-0 Barnesville, they roll 61-0.
Barnesville would play the winner of Frazee and Crookston, where it was beach like weather...
Hornets up 35-6 in the third.
Cory Wokasch finds Hesston Bachmann through the defense great catch,

In 6 AA, Osakis, with helmets that look like Oregon's, faced Pelican Rapids, who offense resembles Oregon this season with how many points they score.
Pelican's Blaine Gorton - pretty 40 yard pitch and catch to Ryan Bruggeman down to the 6.
Then in the 4th, it's Bruggeman on the ground, he carried 23 times for 245 yards and 4 scores
Pelican rushed for nearly 400 yards.
They win 49-30.
They'll face section number one seed Holdingford in the semis, who shutout Staples Motley.
Other side of 6-A had the Heart O'Lakes Champs from Breckenridge taking on Wadena-Deer Creek.
1st drive for the Cowboys ends with Jack Hiedeman plunging through a hole, for the 2-yard touchdown.

Nathan Blaufuss passes for 2 touchdowns in the first, the 2nd is this 22 yarder to Nathan Lorenz.

In the 6A playoffs, Norman County East Ulen Hitterdal faced Park Christian.
These two teams just met 5 days ago and it was a high scoring affair with Park winning.
Today, due to muddy conditions, points were hard to come by.
Park Christian's Matt Moberg opened the scoring in quarter two, reversing his field for this 87 yard punt return for a Touchdown.
Later in the quarter,
Jared Olsgaard finds Gage Stromme for a 20 yard score.
12-0 Park at halftime.
In section 8 nine-man, 3rd ranked Win-E-Mac took on Norman County
On the opening kick-off of the second half, Jake Walker takes it, breaking a few tackles.
Number 11 gets rolling down the patriot sideline, breaking a few more tackles and he’s gone
Eighty yards for the touchdown to make it 47 to nothing.
