Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Katina Tengesdal is home tonight with her family, for the first time in 12-days, after spending the last week and a half in the Cass County Jail.
The Fargo Mom who was ordered to jail for refusing a court ordered grandparents visitation plan, was finally released from jail this evening.
It has been an emotional night for Katina Tengesdal.
The biggest surprise - touching letters from her daughter, and a welcome home cake.
Katina, along with her Fargo attorney Joel Fremstad, walked out of the Cass County jail tonight around dinner time.
She had been behind bars since October 10th.
Once she arrived home, Katina was showered with gifts from her family, including a Homecoming Cake, and letters from her young daughter, welcoming her home, writing that she couldn't wait until they could talk, and in her own words "have time alone."
The 7 year old also took time today, to even make some of that precious hand-made artwork for her mom, as they all celebrated her release from court ordered jail.
Katina Tengesdal/Released Tonight: “fresh air feels really, really good. I can't believe it, I am excited, can't wait to hug my daughter, wait to get home, it is an awesome day, I was running out of hope, feeling down and just seeing the sky felt so good, can even describe it.”
Joel Fremstad/Katina’s Attorney: “We're happy that we've been able to have Katina been released and I know we'll be talking with the court and counsel for the next few days.”
Katina's daughter did have supervised visitation with grandparents this afternoon.
A special legal fund has been set up to assist Katina.
