Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - The Vikings return to the national spotlight Monday night with its first Monday night game in nearly two years as they take on the winless Giants.
All the focus will be on new quarterback, Josh Freeman, the 12th different starter for the Purple since 2004.
That’s the year that Eli Manning took over as quarterback for the Giants and hasn't missed a start.
Meanwhile, Freeman has been a member of the team for just two weeks and now he's been handed the keys to the offense.
Leslie Frazier- Viking Head Coach: “We'll have enough from our playbook where he can function and have success and allow our offense to have success, as well. We're not going to have the entire playbook, but we don't do that anyway. We have game plans specifically for that team and that's what we've done here, as well, so we'll have enough in where he won't get bogged down and he can go out and play well.”
Josh Freeman- Vikings Starting Quarterback: “They’re a team that has mixed up quite a bit this year; looking forward trying to go in as prepared as possible for all of them.”
The Vikings haven't won in primetime since December of 2010 when Minnesota beat Philadelphia on a Tuesday night.
