Bismarck, ND (WDAY TV) - The words 'soldiers deploying' often bring sadness to families with a loved one in the military.

It's a reality now facing nearly 40 soldiers from the 285th Aviation Regiment of the North Dakota Army National Guard.

The soldiers will be deployed to Kosovo where they will operate Black Hawk helicopters and provide air transport for U.S. and NATO forces.

Sunday, the soldier and their families took part in a send-off ceremony at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Bismarck.

Jonathan Sigl- ND Army National Guard: "They support me and it's nice to know that other people support them and your friends and family are there to support your family.”
