FARGO, N.D. (AP) — About 30 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who spent the last 10 months in Cuba are returning home.
A ceremony for the members of the 191st Military Police Company is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fargo Air Museum.
The soldiers worked alongside other U.S. security forces in Guantanamo to provide security and support for the detention camp. Several of them will be recognized Sunday for serving two or more deployments.
The company was commanded by Lt. Col. Mark Tibor, of Bismarck. Maj. William Nels, of Surrey, served as deputy commander.
The ceremony is open to the public.
