Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Last week we brought you the story about a bride, who was dumped only weeks before her wedding.
But she turned her misfortune into a good cause.
And tonight, hundreds are benefiting.
Tonight was supposed to be Michelle’s big day. Instead, right now, she’s in Las Vegas. And here at the Ramada, hundreds of others are having the time of their lives.
October 19th was supposed to be a day full of flowers, family and love.
Rather, this bridal ballroom is haunted with witches, zombies and of course royalty.
"I’m a queen - the CCRI queen."
And don't forget a lot of dancing.
"I was excited and very happy about it."
It is something CCRI has never experienced.
"Not only do they get to dress up maybe use their costume twice this year instead of once, but again it's just a gathering for them. Being able to be together with their friends and just have a lot of fun."
Thousands of dollars spent months ago on food, décor and a DJ to bring happiness to this group today.
"It’s really an amazing thing. And I don't think that Michelle realizes truly what she has done for our folks"
And you see this big bus, it’s actually a limousine, meant to carry the bride and groom and wedding party. Instead, tonight it will carry the CCRI party to take them around town.
