Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The landscape of college hockey officially changes tonight, as UND hockey fans get their first look at not only a new conference, but a new conference opponent.

6th ranked North Dakota is skating on the ice of top-ranked Miami-Ohio In the first game of the National Collegiate Hockey conference.

UND's season is just one week old, after a win and a tie against Vermont.

But, tonight the competition is much tougher and UND needs to be at its best.

Nick Mattson/UND Jr. Defenseman: “Obviously, there's a little bit of rust there. We weren't the cleanest making plays, making passes on the tape and things that are normal for early on in the year. To be honest, at this point I really like our team. We work really hard. We have a really good attitude and those things that we need to work on will come as we continue to gel.”
