Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An update on our special investigation: A Fargo mom who landed in jail on contempt charges after she refused to follow a judge’s order and let her parents have unsupervised visitation with her 7-year-old daughter.

Katina Tengesdal had a public hearing on the contempt charges in Cass District Court Thursday, but all of the proceedings were done behind closed doors in the judge's chambers while Katina sat alone in the courtroom in shackles.

Judge Herman ordered Katina to jail. He, along with her newly appointed public defender, met in the judge's chambers. The grandparents’ attorney attended by phone. Katina was not allowed in the chambers.

No one would comment.

Katina says she worries about the safety of her daughter and will do what it takes to keep her safe.

Our story outlined North Dakota Attorney General BCI investigation documents revealing allegations of sexual abuse allegedly involving an adult male family member. No charges were filed.

Katina remains in jail Thursday night.
