Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - Our rain has dampened the beet harvest, and it's leaving a lot of farmers in limbo, waiting for their fields and crops to dry.

The weather has been less than ideal. Within the last few weeks, some fields have been soaked with up to two inches of rain, and today… More rain.

Fields are muddy; saturated with water.

And a major fear is that water could freeze with winter fast approaching.

Paul Mathiason- Beet Farmer: “As it gets closer and closer to November, you get more and more antsy, and more and more concerned.”
