BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man accused of drug and weapons charges has signed a plea agreement in federal court.
Steven Scranage says he will plead guilty to possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Authorities say he had seven weapons and 15 different brands of ammunition in his possession.
Scranage was convicted of felony assault in Flathead County, Mont., in 2000, and criminal possession of dangerous drugs, also in Flathead County, in 2005.
In exchange for the plea, the government says it will drop charges of possession of body armor by a person convicted of a felony crime of violence, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Scranage faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
