Thanks to the great Moorhead fans in their blaze of orange, it felt like hunting season. Welcome to the 2013 finale of First Down Friday; another night when the weather was for sure going to be factor.

South vs. West Fargo

Our spotlight game was in West Fargo, as the Packers were looking to make a statement against 4th ranked South....

Packers nearly pulled an upset earlier this year against number one Bismarck...

The Packers strike first... The give to Sam Olsen; he looks to just get the first down and that’s about it... But Olsen refuses to go down. We will see this one Wednesday... 86 yards to pay dirt and West Fargo up 7-0...

The Bruins answer with a 12-play drive... Zach Kellen on the QB keeper; he goes 9 yards to the end zone... All tied at 7 after one...

2nd quarter, South trying to get out of their shadow... Kellen's pass is deflected by Alex Dubord and finds the waiting hands of Alex Talley for the Packers INT, but they couldn't score... 7-7 half.

Brainerd vs. Moorhead

This is how most of the jerseys will look tonight as the Spuds hosted 3rd-ranked Brainerd...

4th down play for Moorhead; Tyler Eidsness takes it in himself from a yard out; Spuds out to a 7-0 lead...

Moorhead recovers a Brainerd fumble and they convert again. This time, Jade Lawrence takes it in from 8 yards out... Spuds build a 14-0 lead.

Same score into the 2nd quarter; Spuds threatening again. Watch Eidness. He looks like Peyton Manning here; keeps it himself and scores from 8 yards out...

Moorhead up 20-0 at the break...

Brainerd comes roaring back to tie it... Now in OT, 23-20 Spuds, Connor Gessel scores from 10 yards out... Warriors win it 26-23....

North vs. Davies

Davies had a chance at a 5th-straight win hosting North...

This one was all Davies and they got things going right away in the first quarter with this handoff to Dylan Hughes and he is gone, taking it 64 yards to the house giving the Eagles a quick 6-0 lead.

Late second now, Davies quarterback Aidan Hartness has trouble with the snap and North pounces on it, but would not be able to capitalize...

The Spartans had no answer for Davies run game tonight as this time, its Daylon Melby breaking loose and he goes 60 yards extending the Eagles’ lead late in the second quarter to 18-0 and they would go on to win the game...

Central Cass vs. Shanley

Up the road on 25th Street, 3rd-ranked Shanley took on Central Cass...

We pick up the action late in the second quarter. Central Cass quarterback completes a pass to Jason Roesler, but he fumbles the ball and it's recovered by Jake Erholtz and he takes all the way down inside the 15!

Very next play Shanley capitalizes... Chase Montplaisir throws into the wind and into the end zone to Justin DeKeyser from 12 yards out. A 2-point conversion would give Shanley a 24-6 lead heading into the half.

Kindred vs. Wahpeton

Wahpeton looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season, hosting Kindred...

The kick drum not the only thing taking a beating as Wahpeton's Brock Lingen hammers his way into the end zone; his second of the game... Huskies up 14-0 in the first.

A bright spot for Kindred: Eric Bachmeier launches a bomb to fellow senior Scott Cramer who makes an amazing grab... 47 yards score... Vikings down 14-6.

But more Lingen on the ensuing drive; spins out of a tackle for a 15-yard touchdown and a 22-6 lead.

Wahpeton never looks back, winning 37-12.

Perham vs. Detroit Lakes

The weather gods weren't with Detroit Lakes and Perham. The game was stopped after numerous lightning delays... It's postponed until Saturday at 1.

Staples-Motley vs. DGF

DGF has had a nice year 4-2 entering Friday night’s game with Staples-Motley...

On a windy night, the Rebels keep it on the ground.

1st Quarter, DGF's Joe Flatt goes 55 yard TD run. 6-0 Rebels.

2nd Quarter, DGF Chad Johnson; 8 yard TD run up the middle.

12-0 Rebels.
