Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Remodeling continues after a late June storm dumped three inches of water and sewage into the basement of the New Life Center in Fargo.

The men's shelter is beginning the second of three phases of reconstruction.

Altogether, it's costing the shelter $115,000, and that's after insurance and grant money.

The upcoming phase will close its kitchen and the men's shelter is looking for volunteers to bring in prepared evening meals.

However, the shelter says it's also open to accepting financial assistance.

Rob Swiers- Executive Director at New Life Center: "We will get through this. The community has been wonderful to support us in the past for over 100 years and God has seen us through a lot of things and he'll see us through this, too."

If you'd like to volunteer your time or resources, call 701-235-4453.

The New Life Center hopes to have all three phases of construction completed by mid-December.
