Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Your favorite shows - there are season premieres, season finales, people voted off, people winning competitions, and not enough time to watch it all!

If you DVR, watch online, or on demand you may have to avoid Facebook and Twitter to keep from having your big ending spoiled.

But no longer - Because there's an app for that,

While you're anxiously waiting to watch the big game or show you recorded on your DVR last night.

The rest of the world knows what happened - and they are posting messages all about it.

More and more of us are running short on time and time shifting our TV shows and games and that has made social media the enemy if you want to avoid

The one post that can spoil it all.

Some app developers who had the same frustrations have come to the rescue with a new app called: Spoiler Shield.

Simply, it keeps you connected to social media - but protects you from any of the posts that mention your show or game.

The app accesses both your Facebook and twitter accounts.

You then can put shields on your favorite TV shows - there are only 30 to choose from right now - or you can shield your favorite sports teams - but right now that's just limited to the NFL and major league baseball.

The app then goes to work and blocks any posts on your social media feeds that are related to those shows or games.

If any of the blocked items appear - you'll see the Spoiler Shield logo instead of the post, then if you decide to read it you just double click.

So you avoid this, and can enjoy that cliffhanger or game winning touchdown in your own time.

The developers say they plan to launch an android version soon.
