Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A summer staple along the streets in Kindred has seen its last season - the pool is closing for good.

Local businesses are donating their time and equipment to help tear it down.

Kindred's mayor says it's time to close it.

They've spent a lot of time and money trying to keep up with maintenance issues.

So far, the demolition project has been cost free thanks to donations.

And the next step is fundraising for a new pool.

Jeff Wanner, Kindred Mayor: “Over the winter we're going to work on grants and fundraisers and donations of any kind we can, try to fund this thing without having the taxpayers have to pay for it.”

The mayor says if that's done, Kindred could have a new pool by this summer.
