Wahpeton, ND (WDAY TV) - The start of the season couldn't have gone better for Brian Dokken's Wahpeton Huskies.

They have blazed out of the gates to a 5-0 record, racking up points in the process, eager to return to the state tournament and do some damage.

They have a dynamic quarterback-running back combination with Jack Christiansen and Brock Lingen and the wins have followed.

Hunter McCall – Wahpeton Senior Center: “Well, we have a really balanced offense. Usually, Wahpeton only runs the ball so teams put a lot of people in the box. But, now we can pass it and run it. So, it spreads the defense out a lot.”

Brian Dokken – Wahpeton Football Coach: “We're going to be tested here now. We're going to see what kind of team we are because we have a stretch here of some really good football teams coming. I think the potential is there. But, we know that we've had that potential in years past, and if we don't look at it one week at a time. We might have trouble.”

We'll have more on the Huskies quarterback coming up tonight and 10 this reminder

We'll be broadcasting Wahpeton's visit to Shanley live on WDAY 6-3 on Friday night, starting at 7. Then make sure to check out all the highlights from around the region on First Down Friday.
