MINOT, N.D. (AP) — City officials are testing water samples in a Minot neighborhood after reports of bacteria found in an analysis by a regional public health agency.

The Minot Daily News reports that a water sample taken from a Minot homeowner tested positive for coliforms. City officials are looking into the report.

Resident Rebecca Rosales-Olmos says she had her water tested by First District Health Unit because her family has experienced flu-like symptoms and other health problems.

Rosales-Olmos bought a house that was damaged by the historic 2011 Souris River flood and moved in after making repairs.

Minot public works director Dan Jonasson says the city is working to verify the results, which should be available on Monday.

Says Rosales-Olmos, "I am done being sick. This is not fair to people."
