Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - We may be in the heart of football season, but the basketball year isn't that far behind.
Friday, NDSU held its first practice of the season at the Bison Sports Arena.
This is a highly anticipated year for the Bison, with five returning seniors and they're in the gym even earlier than usual, thanks to a new NCAA rule that allows practice 40 days out before the first game.
Taylor Braun- NDSU Senior Guard: “We're not going to go so many consecutive days, so the days we're here; 2-4 days in a row go a little harder and then we'll have more time off than we used to. That will help us. The time we're in gym, we get more out of it.”
Saul Phillips- 7th Year NDSU Head Coach: “Make sure we're being smart about how we use our guys; more access I have to the guys the better. I haven't been this fired up about a season since we went to the NCAA and that's saying something because I get fired up for anything basketball related.”
