St. Paul, MN (WDAY TV) - One week from Thursday, the new season begins for the Minnesota Wild; a season where plenty is expected after another offseason of change.

Matt Cullen and Devon Setoguchi are gone; Keith Ballard and Matt Cooke are here. The Wild snuck into the playoffs last season grabbing the eighth seed before losing to the eventual champion Blackhawks and say they're hungry for more this year.

Mike Yeo- Wild Head Coach (NHL Network): “We want to be a team that gets better as the year goes on; want to be a team that really progresses and in order for that to happen, go out and play these teams knowing you have to be at your best every night. Think the biggest thing we took is so many guys getting into the battle for the first time.”

Wild season opener is against the Kings next Thursday.
