Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The F-M Diversion Authority is considering special assessments as a possible way to help pay for a diversion.
Members say special assessments could be used instead of extending the sales tax and would allow for lower interest rates when borrowing money.
Each property inside the diversion channel alignment would be assessed based on its area and value.
Eric Dodds- F-M Diversion Authority: “I think the decision is that there are four or five options on the table and we're going to evaluate all of those options until one of them rises to the top, and maybe it becomes a combination of options.”
Any decision would need voter approval.
There's no word yet on how much property owners would pay; if any, for special assessments.
