Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Fargo School Board plans to upgrade the six elementary schools that were shut down because of the heat earlier this school year.

Not only did the board decide to keep the older schools open, it will also install air conditioning units in the buildings.

The six schools - Clara Barton, Lewis and Clark, Roosevelt, Horace Mann, Madison and McKinley -currently have limited or no air conditioning.

They were closed for a full week because of extreme heat.

Now the school board will decide which systems to install. Upgrading could cost as much as 10-million dollars.
