Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - NDSU has reached a yearlong deal with a California technology company that will bring new jobs to Fargo.
Cogi, based in Santa Barbara, is connected to the university through the state's Center of Excellence program.
It partners private companies with research and development hubs in the university system.
The partnership focuses on the launch of a voice recording mobile application.
It's a simple concept, but Cogi's owner says it's one that takes a large team effort.
Mark Cromack, Cogi President and Founder: "There's 750 thousand lines of software that his team is working with in order to affect this. This is a big deal. There is a lot of work that's done.”
Cogi is currently scouting out office space and plans to open in Fargo with 20 to 30 employees.
The application launched on Androids today and will be available for iPhones in the near future.
