Steele County, ND (WDAY TV) - Steele County authorities are in the midst of daylong manhunt through cornfields. They caught one man and they're still looking for another.
It has been a wild day out here in Steele County.
Wayne Beckman- Steele County Sheriff: "My deputes checked on a RV that was parked on Highway 200. It was a stolen vehicle out of the Theif River Falls, Minnesota area. A short time later my deputes were south of that location following two males walking, they took off running, ended up in a cornfield and then the chase was on."
One of them was a registered Minnesota sex offender, he was the one that was captured a few hours ago. However, they're still looking for one of those gentlemen tonight.
Beckman: "The sex offender was caught, we have him. The second suspect, who we believe is not armed and dangerous, is running around out here right now.
Over a dozen agencies had been searching for most of the day.
Tactile left for the night.
Beckman: "We have multiple units driving around. Border patrol will be out, we'll have our deputes and neighboring deputes. We're going to drive around the area and hit the back roads and see what happens."
One of the suspects has evaded cops, K-9 units, planes, and horses. He is still on the loose.
Authorities say they have apprehended one of the suspects this morning, a level three sex offender from Minnesota.
That man's name is Corey Roper, he is in custody.
However, another man has continued to evade police his name is Dylan Klode. He is from the Thief River Falls area.
Authorities have given a suspect description.
Klode is 5'11", 150 pounds, short black hair and was last seen with a white tank top and blue jeans.
Authorties say he has no shoes on his feet.
