Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The first month of the Bison season has been played out in national headlines from the win over Kansas State to College GameDay rolling into town, but for the coaching staff and the players, the fun really begins this Saturday.

With the Dakota Marker up for grabs; as conference play opens for NDSU on the road in Brookings against 6th ranked SDSU, this will be matchup number 101 between the two schools. They played twice last season. NDSU won both matchups and Craig Bohl has stressed that the hard work really begins now.

Craig Bohl- 7-4 Career Record vs. SDSU: “That's the first thing we talked about in the locker room after last week's game. Now, the real schedule comes into play. Our guys’ number one goal into the year was to win Missouri Valley conference; tough task to do. Parity is there. Every game is a tough game. This game is tough, look back, toss a coin, which team was going to win.”

Prior to winning in Brookings in 2011, the last time NDSU won at SDSU was 1999. We'll have more on the growing importance of this rivalry and the 10 years since introducing the Marker at 10:20.

The latest coaches’ poll is out; NDSU still a unanimous number 1, Towson moves up to 2, Eastern Washington and Sam Houston play each other this weekend at 3 and 4, Northern Iowa and SDSU go 5-6.
