Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - All signs this week pointed to the Vikings being a heavy favorite against Cleveland. In fact, people were questioning that after an 0-2 start, the Browns were tanking for the top draft pick.

They traded their best running back this week, and they started their 3rd string quarterback.

So much for that theory.

Vikings fans might show up with paper bags on their head for the next home game.

For the third straight week, the Vikings scored first.

Adrian Peterson from two yards out.

Vikings up 7-0, Peterson was held to just 88 yards on 25 carries.

Brian Hoyer is that 3rd string quarterback I was talking about,

he finds a wide open Josh Gordon

for the 47-yard touchdown,

game tied at 7.

After a successful fake punt on the previous drive, the Browns fake a field goal.

And nobody saw tight end Jordan Cameron, that makes it 23-14 Cleveland.

Even when the Vikings had luck, they found a way to screw it up.

This muffed punt gave them the ball.

Leslie Frazier challenged it, because he thought it was a fumble and a Vikings touchdown.

But, that can't be challenged, and results in a 15-yard penalty.

Vikings settle for a field goal.

In the third, The Vikings do it again,

Chad Greenway with the momentum changing interception.

But, 2 plays later, Peterson with the momentum killing fumble.

Nobody wanted to win.

After hearing boos all day, Christian Ponder showed his guts, taking the draw play on 3rd and goal,

8 yards into the endzone to tie the game late in the 3rd.

The Vikings led by a Blair Walsh field goal in the 4th.

But, with one minute left. It's déjà vu from last week,

but instead of Martellus Bennett, it's Cameron for a 3rd time in the endzone.

31-27 Browns.

That left Ponder with 50 seconds to engineer a game-winning drive, and that didn't happen.

Ponder threw check down after check down.

As time ran out on the purple.

The Vikings are 0-3 after the 31-27 loss.
