Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - UND held its fifth annual North Dakota Hockey Fan Fest today at Ralph Engelstad Arena,

Coaches and players were greeted by several fans for pictures and autographs.

Both teams open the regular season at home, in early October.

5-6 years ago, the men and women had much different expectations.

But with the rise of the women's program in recent years, both feel a national title is within reach.

Rocco Grimald- UND Sophomore Forward: “We lost a big senior class and a lot of big pieces to the puzzle from last year. We know we have a lot of new guys coming in. They are going to fill those roles. We should be a good team this year and I'm looking forward to getting started and hopefully having a national championship this year.”

Meghan Dufault- UND Sohpomore Forward: “The team has grown tremendously over the years. It is now a competitor for the national tournament every year. There'sexpectations in the town from the fans and coaches, from everyone to really go out and do good. It's a blessing to have expectations like that.”
