Bismarck, ND (WDAY TV) - If you'd like to see how apples are pressed, you may want to check out Applefest.

That event also took part in the capitol where families gathered at Buckstop Junction.

At the "core" of the festival: Food, craft vendors and entertainment.

Volunteers are having bushels of fun making old-fashioned pressed apple cider.

The apples are locally grown, collected and put into this hand-crank grinder.

Mylo Kramer- Applefest Volunteer: "Everybody seems to be amazed where apple juice comes from. Why? I don't know, but it is, and they see that it's a darker color, so it's pure apple juice, you know, versus what you buy in the store would be clear. And it's more tart. You know, they're probably surprised on the taste because there's no sugar added."

All proceeds from the event benefit the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation.
