East Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - A community mourns after the death of an East Grand Forks woman.

23-year-old Stephanie Johnson rolled her vehicle early Friday morning. She was rushed to Altru hospital where she died from her injuries.

Charley Johnson- Stephanie’s Brother: “My sister is in a good place right now and hopefully I will see her again one day.”

Stephanie Johnson was on her way home from a friend’s house when she rolled her car. She was going home to get ready for work. Police speculate an animal may have run in front of her vehicle. Stephanie was ejected from the car and rushed to Altru Hospital where she eventually died from her injuries.

Mike Marek- Science Teacher: “You wake up and you think it's going to be a ho-hum, same-same day and events like this just turn the day upside down.”

Stephanie graduated from Sacred Heart in East Grand Forks in 2008. Faculty like science teacher Mike Marek remembers Stephanie as a friendly student and says she will be dearly missed.

Marek: “She really got along with people and tried to see the best in all of her classmates.”

Stephanie's brother, Charley, remembers his sister as someone who was always willing to help people out.

Johnson: “My sister was; she wanted to help everyone she met, you know. She really cared for everyone.”

Charley says he received a lot of support and prayers. He and his family are thankful.

Funeral arrangements are still pending.

We spoke with the pastor of Sacred Heart and he visited the Johnson family today to provide his support.
