Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - In addition to the Bison coaches and players having a restless night, there is another NDSU student who is preparing for his big role in tomorrow's College GameDay extravaganza.

24-year-old Andy Nagel is a college senior and through an impressive battle on Facebook, he has been selected as The Home Depot Social Host for College GameDay.

The reason behind this? A 10 year old.

In pouring rain on Broadway Friday, Andy Nagel began his role as the much sought-after social media host for GameDay.

Home Depot's effort to use one person to document and send out to the rest of the world's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram users everything grand about Fargo's Game Day.

Andy Nagel- Home Depot Social Media Host: “I will be posting pictures, tweeting and Instagram-bombarding everyone that Game Day is here in Fargo.”

Andy used Facebook to collect hundreds of names in just days to win the Home Depot contest, and it is a job he is taking seriously.

Nagel: “I contemplated two hours and I am so glad I did; an incredible opportunity. I'm so thankful and grateful I get to do this.”

But while Andy is excited about winning the contest, we quickly found out it is less about Andy and more about someone named Ethan.

Meet 10-year-old Ethan, Andy's Little Brother in Fargo-Moorhead's Big Brother-Little Brother program. Ethan finds out Friday night about the surprise from Andy: A little VIP for the shy elementary student.

Nagel: “The biggest reason is to get my "little" backstage lifetime opportunity; pretty special to give him this opportunity he might not have had if he wasn't in the program.”

Andy is in his last semester at NDSU; he says what a way to finish his last year, by taking part in one of the biggest shows ever to come to town.

Nagel: “Three-hour info commercial for the community and NDSU; it is awesome.”

Nagel says another reason he's happy he won: He gets to talk about the big need for more Big Brothers and Sisters in Fargo-Moorhead.
