Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo has become the Capital of the College Football Nation this weekend, thanks to College GameDay bringing its traveling sideshow to town.

The faces of College GameDay have arrived in Fargo, eager to show off the city and the two-time defending national champs from NDSU to the rest of the college football world.

Chris Fowler- College GameDay Host: “It seems like a town overflowing with enthusiastic fans. I think it's the first thing I'll say when I come on the air. This is a hotbed for college football. May not know it, but fans are crazy, passionate, informed and invested as any anywhere; definitely got that from fans on the plane, people I bump into, Bison players hanging around not believing it's been real. It's been fun.”

Tom Rinald- College GameDay Reporter: “Sometimes, at the biggest levels of college football sense of entitlement, there is no sense of that around the Bison. It comes from Coach Bohl; great coaching staff and great fuel; lot of players get Bison chip on their shoulder.”

There's one other mainstay of this show and that's when Lee Corso puts on the headgear of the game they're at, and his colleagues say they're on high alert for this week's game.

Kirk Herbstreit- College GameDay Analyst: “He always brings a dog or a live animal; don't know about a live Bison. Always alert, this is a week when I'll be alert.”

Fowler: “We wanted to do the show at the crossroads of the world at Time Square, didn't make sense, latched onto idea of coming here from Times Square to Fargo seemed like an interesting contrast, this will not look any other GameDay we've ever done, done shows in domes, down parking lots, trying to get away from, once we saw downtown and learned about it, it’s an obvious choice, and seeing what's set up out there think it was right choice and people will agree when they see it on Saturday.”
