Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Downtown Fargo is being transformed from streets, shops and walks to a giant TV studio.

ESPN College GameDay is "setting up.” It's giant outdoor studio.

By the stares and picture-snapping, you might think a spaceship had parked in downtown Fargo.

Louis Kadlec- Grand Rapids Bison Fan: "Well, right now it looks like a bunch of mayhem."

And the metal scaffolding of College GameDay certainly does look alien.

Bruce Brovold- Bison and GameDay Fan: "It seems like everyone is working like bees, and they know what exactly to do and working with a lot of ease and skill."

They even brought stuff called "astro" turf.

But folks thought the construction resembled a myriad of things.

Shelly Carlson- GameDay Fan: "I think it looks like a movie set or the end of the phenomenal Fargo Marathon."

Of course, it really wasn't a secret what was going up. The logos and tell-tale signs cover the set. And from down the street to people visiting from Grand Forks, it was clear the rarity of the event fueled the interest.

Kadlec: "We've got to come and see this. We'll probably never get a chance to see it again in Fargo and the state of North Dakota."

Security says people are welcome around the perimeter of the set, but they're asking they refrain from walking through the set to get from one end of Broadway to the other.
