FARGO – Police arrested a man on Wednesday who they say tried to rob a liquor store in Fargo Tuesday night.

According to Lt. Joel Vettel:

About 11 p.m., a man entered Steve’s Package Store at 524 4th St. N. and approached the counter demanding money.

The male store clerk attempted to push past the man, but there was a tussle and the clerk received some injuries to his face and head.

The suspect then left the store without taking any money. Vettel said the suspect’s shirt was ripped off during the struggle with the clerk.

On Wednesday evening, officers arrested 19-year-old Silas Duke Cavanaugh on suspicion of strong-armed robbery. Vettel said Cavanaugh has no permanent address but had been staying in the Fargo area.
