Petersburg, ND, Sex Offender Pleads Not Guilty to 5 New Charges

A Petersburg, ND, man plead not guilty to Gross Sexual Imposition Friday in Nelson County.

At his arraignment, Michael McClary plead not guilty to all five counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, the maximum penalty for which is life in prison without parole.

McClary, who is 47 or 48, was charged with the five counts for sexual contact with three girls, ages 14, 13 and seven at the time of the alleged offenses.

Authorities say four of the five incidents happened in 2010 and the other dates back to 2004.

A pre-trial hearing has been set for September 12th.

McClary was arrested at the Ambassador Motel in Grand Forks on April 19. He had previously been charged with sexual assault in 1997 in Saskatchewan, served about four years, and then was deported to the U.S. in 2001.
