Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A 28-year-old Fargo woman faces a DUI charge after speeding down a residential street and hitting a parked car.

Kristina Nybold was arrested, but released for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries suffered during the crash.

A witness says the convertible was going between 50 and 60 miles per hour down 14th Street South at 1 a.m.

The vehicle hit a parked car, pushing it about 75 feet onto the boulevard and narrowly missing a tree.

Sergeant Kevin Pallas- Fargo Police Department: "Striking a vehicle, which is moveable, for the most part, ends up taking a lot of the energy out of that oncoming vehicle; unlike a tree that is on the Boulevard such as there was very close to this. So, I think the person was extremely fortunate that if they were to hit anything, it was a parked car on the street."

One of the two other passengers in the vehicle also went to Essentia for treatment.

Police found open containers in the vehicle.
