BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development agency is giving a total of $17 million in federal grants and loans to eight water improvement projects in North Dakota.

Rural Development State Director Jasper Schneider says money is going to the cities of Hunter, Rolla, Lignite, Hazelton, Streeter and Linton, the Stutsman Rural Water District and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.

Rolla is getting the most money — a $2.3 million loan and a $1.9 million grant for water infrastructure upgrades.
