Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A group of Fargo North students is remembering and honoring a fellow student tonight who committed suicide a year ago.

The students are joining forces with the organization, "You Are Worth It." They wore t-shirts tonight with that saying on them.

The students say they want to show other students who may be struggling that they're not alone, and their life is worth something.

They say suicide effects more than just the person who takes their life.

Desaree Sherbrooke, North Junior: “We've all been sticking by each other’s sides always, you know. Sometimes here and there we'll have a break-down, and we'll all be there for each other. We'll just talk about it, get together and we'll just hang out and share stories.”

Suicide takes the lives of 30-thousand Americans every year.
