North Dakota airports getting $2.5 million for upgrades

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's congressional delegation says five airports in the state are getting federal grants for construction projects and other improvements.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's congressional delegation says five airports in the state are getting federal grants for construction projects and other improvements.

The Federal Aviation Administration is giving a total of about $2.5 million to the airports. The Grand Forks airport is getting more than $1 million to construct a snow removal equipment building and to revamp the runway lighting system.

Williston's airport is getting $1 million for improvements to its runway and for a study to consider a new commercial airport site to help meet demand in the oil patch.

Airports in Pembina, Parshall and Barnes County also are getting grants.
