A Red River High School dance in Grand Forks fell apart after students weren't allowed to "twerk," so most of them left.
Most parents shared an uneasy feeling when they first saw or heard of Miley Cyrus and her twerking. History shows from Elvis, to Madonna, and now Miley; teenagers will mimic what they see.

3/4ths of the students at Red River High School's dance on Friday left for not being allowed to twerk: Slang for the dance Cyrus made infamous.
The group went to the outskirts of town and started its own dance party with no rules on the moves.
Kris Arason: "We're a public high school. We're not a dance club. We're not an adult dance club. We're a public school that's providing a service for the kids."
A California mom went public when her 7th grade daughter got caught twerking.
She put her on the corner of a busy street wearing this sign: "I was disrespecting my parents by twerking at a school dance."
California Mom: "That's ridiculous to think that's OK to do that at a school dance."
Unfortunately for parents, Cyrus looks like she's just getting started stirring up controversy.

The Grand Forks students weren't disciplined because school officials say they stopped the inappropriate dancing when asked and they weren't breaking any laws when they moved the dance to the outskirts of town.
