Leith, ND (WDAY TV) - New developments in connection with a planned visit by a group of white supremacists to tiny Leith, North Dakota: The commander of the National Socialist Movement has sent a letter to the Mayor of Leith, asking for a town meeting in late September.

The mayor of Leith told us this afternoon, it appears there will be no public community meeting of white supremacists and the people living in the small Grant County town.

The National Socialist Movement told us Thursday: Leith should be more concerned about anti-racism groups expected to show up and shout down the white supremacists.

Jeff Schoep is no stranger to controversy; even riots with those who loathe him and what he believes in as commander of the National Socialist Movement. In a planned visit to Leith in two weeks, Schoep is asking the mayor, in a formal letter, to have a town hall meeting.

Jeff Schoep- National Socialist Movement Commander: "Let the people of the town figure it out. Let them talk to us and let them see their neighbors are no different than they are. We are not trying to push our agenda on anyone."

Meantime, support is building for an anti-racism wave of people to show up and shout down the white supremacists who are coming to Leith because one of its own, Craig Cobb, has purchases several lots in Leith and is hoping to turn the tiny town of a dozen into a white power stronghold. Former members of the activist group Anti-Racist Action with ties to North Dakota are planning to rally around the town of Leith and force the white supremacists out.

Kade Ferris- Stop Hate, No Nazis in ND: "In America, true patriotism is standing up for what is right for being the shining example for what is good honest and true."

The National Socialist Movement says the anti-racist group can turn violent, and tells us, the white supremacists will defend themselves against them if it comes to that.

Schoep: "They claim that they are peace-loving, but any dealing we have had with them, they have attacked police officers, random acts of terrorism; this is an anarchist group. They hate the police."

And yes, the National Socialist movement says it plans on getting flag poles up, presumably to fly the symbol of the group: The Swastika.
