Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - It wasn't the start that Steve Laqua and his team were hoping for to begin 2013, but he certainly liked the finish.

Laqua's MSU-Moorhead Dragons fell behind 42-7 after the first half at Augustana, but the second half was completely different. True freshman quarterback Demetrius Carr threw three touchdown passes and had over 350 yards in the game as they outscored the Vikings 21-0.

Demetrius Carr – MSUM Fr. Quarterback: “I believe with my performance and the teams' performance, we gave a lot of hope to everybody. With the way the Dragon program has been in the past couple years, no one has seen that, and with this past Saturday's game, we gave a lot of hope to parents, alumni, and especially to players.”

Steve Laqua – MSUM Head Coach, 3rd Year: “It sounds crazy, but in the last two years being here it's probably the most optimistic I've ever been coming off a loss. We showed a lot of good signs, got that first game jitters out, and so I really expect our guys to come out and put four good quarters together.”

The Dragons host Southwest State this Saturday.
