Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - When you think of the best athletes on this year's Bison football roster, Marcus Williams, Billy Turner and Ryan Smith probably come right to mind – but you better add Andrew Bonnett to that list.

The 6'3, 245 pound fullback may not look like it, but for the 2nd time in as many seasons, he leaped over a defender this past Saturday. Thanks to plays like that Bonnett is seeing his playing time increase.

Andrew Bonnet – NDSU Soph. Fullback: “I did do hurdles in high school actually, also did that a couple times in high school. My teammates come up to me, and they always expect it to happen. They saw it once in a game, so they just expect me to do it every time.”

Craig Bohl – NDSU Head Coach, 11th Year: “Andrew is becoming a more competent player. He still has some things to learn. It's not a deal where we'll replace Andrew Grothmann with Bonnet, but to be to utilize those two guys on the field at the same time is something we'll explore.. It's kind of neat to see a 245 pound guy hurdling someone in the open field. It's pretty special.”

Bonnett's other hurdle came against Prairie View last season, in high school he was part of a record setting hurdle relay team in Iowa.
