McVILLE, N.D. – Authorities have released the name of a 50-year-old man from Cooperstown who died after he was thrown from a garbage truck in a crash near here Monday morning.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said Ernest Brager was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened about 8:35 a.m. on 109th Avenue Northeast, about three miles north of McVille.

The patrol said a garbage truck driven by J.J. Zaun, 19, of Cooperstown, lost traction on wet gravel. The truck entered the ditch and rolled once.
