Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Fargo School Board is meeting this week to discuss long terms plans for the district.

In a special meeting, the board met for the first of its three-day session; all focusing on how to keep up with the growing district.

Board members are going over its long range facilities plan.

One of today's main topics: A new elementary school in South Fargo, and potential construction at Ed Clapp Park.

The board went over funding options for the project and discussed space at its middle and high schools.

Dinah Goldenberg- School Board President: “Right now, we're leading towards higher growth on the South side, which would overpopulate the South side, and we'd like to try to do something to evenly distribute that. So, that will be part of discussion.”

The board also discussed possible magnet schools, and space at the district's middle and high schools.
