Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - If you look forward to going out to dinner with your friends but dread the hassle of splitting up the bill when the check comes, there's help.
You never have to pay for someone else's expensive tastes again- because there's an app for that.
When you're out to dinner with your friends, you've likely had those awkward moments when the check comes.
If you ordered the salad and they ordered a steak, the math might not add up.
To avoid the algebra arguments or splitting the numbers on napkins, you can download the Tab app. It calculates everyone's individual total down to the cent.
You start by taking a picture of your receipt with your phone. The app separates each item. Next, type in everyone's names. Then each person can claim exactly what they ordered
Tab even works if you share an appetizer or dinner - multiple people can click the same item.
Then you can choose how much you want to tip, and the app calculates that and splits it equally, then shows you your individual total.
If it's someone's special day, you tap a little crown icon and divide their total among everyone else.
And when it comes time to pay, there's a spot for everyone to type the last four digits of their credit card to show your server what amount to put on each card.
It truly is the simple way to split a bill among friends. Tab is free on both the apple and google play markets.
