Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A new study points to the middle class in Minnesota slumping to average when compared to the rest of the United States.

Growth and Justice, an economic group, found that median household income has fallen 18% from 2000 to 2010.

It's the steepest decline in the nation. The figures were adjusted for inflation.

Minnesota's median income is now about $58,000.

That's very close to the national median, which has some people concerned because Minnesotans had been well above average in decades previous.
