St. Paul, MN (WDAY TV) - Monday's the last day of the Minnesota State Fair and the cooler temperatures mean some vendors are turning a nice profit.
KSTP's Kate Renner stopped by some of the fair eateries Monday morning to find out just who is rolling in the dough.
Mike Teague gets a little excitable when he talks about corn dogs.
Mike Teague- Poncho Dog: "It was constant and constant and constant and moving; I loved it. We had them going out to the corners and coming back."
Cooler, crisp temperatures are bringing lots of Minnesotans to his stand. Sunday, he doubled what he usually makes in a day.
Teague: "People came up and got a corndog. It was awesome."
On the hottest of hot days, his sales fell $4,000. Sunday, he made 18-grand.
And he's not alone today. It's the hot food stand turn to make a profit. This guy chose Australian battered potatoes.
But it may be too little too late for some hot food stands.
Lowell Freeman- Taco King: "If you could have your weather guy pull in this 75-degree weather, maybe a little clouds and sun put together; if we could put in a request for that for next year, or for all 12 years… That'd be great.”
What's in it for him?
Freeman: "I'd give him a breakfast burrito every day."
