Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A California man is challenging himself on a unique journey across the United States. It's his way of promoting one of his passions to the public.
Fifty states in fifty days may seem like a daunting task, but for this California man, it is all about sharing his love of disc golf.
Larry Kirk is on day 15 of his 50-day road trip stopping at Woodlawn Park in Moorhead. This is his second time traveling the United States playing his favorite sport.
He started with Hawaii and Alaska and plans on finishing in South Carolina in 35 days.
Although he admits it sounds a little crazy, he says it's the challenge of every new course and the people he meets along the way that keeps him going.
Larry Kirk- Traveling disc golf player: “And it's a great exercise. It's a great mental game and that's the thing that drives me is challenging myself every course to beat it, and then to move on and beat the next course, and beat the next course."
Larry's next stop is South Dakota, and then all the way to Louisiana.
