MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Another rainy week just about guarantees that Minot will set a new annual precipitation record in 2013 — with four months left in the year.

Jim Tarasenko at the North Central Research and Extension Center says the past two rainfalls have totaled almost 2 1/2 inches. That brings the August total to 3.4 inches.

He says the total precipitation for the year of 26.47 inches is about a half-inch short of the full-year record set in 1975 — 26.99 inches.
