Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A new era in local sports coverage is just hours away from hitting the air waves.
Today we will be broadcasting our first live high school football game on our station 6 dash 3.
Here at WDAY We've made a commitment to local activities. In this trailer alone, we've spent nearly one million dollars in upgrades to bring live local football, basketball, and championship games right to your living room.
Come Friday you'll be able to watch the Detroit Lakes Lakers Take on the Spartans Of Fargo North in high definition. This game along with seven others will be broadcast on our 6 dash three station each Friday.
How can you see it? If you use rabbit ears for your tv you can pick up 6-3.
There are also several cable companies that carry 6-3. Like Midcontinent, Sjoberg's, Polar Communications, and Charter.
Right now, If you have cable one, direct or dish - you can't get it unless you pull out those rabbit ears. If your cable or satellite provider isn't listed you can give them a call to see if they'll add 6-3.
Dave Johnson/WDAY Chief Engineer: Normally 6 dash three is weather, it's those weather graphics and audio is our radio station, Friday night we'll put a football game on there.
And we're not stopping at high school sports. We hope in the future to add live high school events and college sports on Saturday to the list.
Dave: And eventually we'll put some other programming on there and then just make another channel for weather.
Here's a look at our upcoming games. On the 6th it will be Bismarck at West Fargo, on the 13th Grand Rapids at Moorhead, on the 20th North at South, on the 27th Hawley at DGF, and on October 4th Wahpeton at Shanley.
