Dilworth, MN (WDAY TV) - The Dilworth police chief accused of doing a poor job by his officers will have his probationary period extended by three months.

The city council held a closed-door evaluation of Josh Ebert's employment today.

Ebert started as police chief in March, and his probationary period was scheduled to go until September 5th.

That will now be extended to December 5th.

Last December, a group of officers declared "no confidence" in Ebert, but after a month-long review, the council said their allegations were unfounded.

Chad Olson- Dilworth Mayor: "The council and Mr. Ebert, along with his union, have jointly agreed to extend his probationary period for an additional 90 days. The council wishes to afford additional time to Chief Ebert before his probationary period is lifted."
