Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Some Concordia students spent the night in the college's Grant Center Tuesday night to escape the heat.
Many of the residence halls on campus do not have air conditioning.
To help, the college has decided to leave the Grant Center and Knutson Student Center open to students throughout the night.
That way, they can take a break from their sticky dorm rooms in the air-conditioned buildings.
Sue Oatey- Vice President of Student Affairs: “I'm aware of a couple students who reported they spent the night, all night, in the Grant Center. Last night, we had students here until about 2 o'clock in the morning and then they thought it was cool enough that they had fans going in their room that they could go back to their rooms and sleep."
School officials say they will allow student access to those buildings 24 hours a day as long as this heat keeps up.
